January 8, 2010 Added Video and Photo's. Miami-Homestead action including that first turn accident.

 

January 2, 2010 As a combined SCCA start ends our run at Miami-Homestead with a multi car crash going into turn 1. New carbon oil pan is now in our on-line store, the first run of ten is already gone.

 

January 1, 2010 Bill McLaughlin Jr takes the RF1000 with the Speedway Aero Package to Miami-Homestead and puts it on the outside pole in FB. "We had issues that keep us off track on the test day and having never turned a lap on a speedway made qualifying difficult. Every time out I keep dropping time, I will be up to speed by race time" according to Bill McLaughlin Jr.

 

December 17, 2009 McLaughlin Motorsports now has a Carbon Fiber Oil Pan for the Suzuki GSXR 1000. Weighting a mere 15oz, some two and a half pounds lighter then the current aluminum pans, will sure to be a welcome addition to the FB Class. In the on-line store soon.

 

December 13, 2009 Glenn Cooper takes delivery of his new RFR Cars F1000. The combination of the two will yield outstanding results. Welcome to the family. Official Press Release:

2009 US Formula 1000 National Champion and Italian ex-patriate Giancarlo Di Coopola has taken delivery of a new Ralph Firman Racing Formula 1000 car in which to represent RFR in the 2010 US National Championships which open in Florida with the Miami Homestead double header on January 2nd. Having only just concluded a deal with RFR's North American importer, Bill McLaughlin of McLaughlin Motorsports, at the recent PRI Show in Orlando, time is tight, but Giancarlo is confident he will be there, probably tired from a few all-nighters, but eager to defend his title. Racing in the US as Glenn Cooper, "Coop" had this to say about his new purchase,

"The RFR car is amazing, - stepping out of the car in which I won the championship and into a Firman chassis has me mesmerized. The attention to detail and the thought that has gone into seemingly everything, is a sight to behold. I know the crew at RFR have decades of experience building championship winning cars, and it certainly shows."

Speaking from his Snetterton base in the UK, Ralph Firman said that to have Glenn Cooper in his car was fantastic news. "I have worked with a lot of talented drivers during my career and I recognized last year that Glenn was extremely fast, so I am looking forward to working with him and further developing my Formula 1000 car during 2010."

 

November 7, 2009 American Road Racing Championships held at Road Atlanta proved positive for the RFR cars with a 14 second win in F1000.

July 07, 2009 RFRCARS now carries the full line of Talon Sprockets for the Firman and Van Diemem Chassis. These sprockets are beautifully, split and we recess them for you if you wish.

 

May 18, 2009 Expecting the shipment of the Red 09 Firman this week, as well as the engine and dry sump for the Black 09 house car. The Bald Spot Seat has been installed by Travis and company, you will not find a better, safer, or cost efficient seat.

 

May 12, 2009 Final arrangements are being planned for the June Sprints. Please plan to stop be the transporter for a look at a Firman F1000, I think you will be pleased with what you see.

 

May 06, 2009 McLaughlin Motorsports begins advertising on Apex Speed. Further advertising campaigns are being planned. Apex Speed with its Formula B forum is a perfect venue for Ralph Firman Cars and our program.

 

April 28, 2009 Car arrived as expected, the care taken at the factory to insure a safe transit was amazing. Not one scratch on anything, and all support parts accounted for. Our hats off to Ralph and company.

 

April 27, 2009 Our first Firman arrived today, cleared customs and is in route to our shop. Upon arrival we will begin to take critical measurements, fix the Suzuki GSXR 1000 engine into the engine bay, install the AIM Sports data system, install the AIRFX air shifter, and custom Bald Spot Seat. We will take plenty of photos and publish them soon.
